Below are answers to common questions about our custom roller shades, solar shades, measuring, production, shipping, and ordering.
Are your shades custom-made?
Yes. Every shade is made to the measurements and options selected when the order is placed. Our shades are manufactured in Port Richey, Florida.
What is the difference between light-filtering and room-darkening roller shades?
Light-filtering shades soften incoming light while allowing the room to remain bright. Room-darkening shades block substantially more light and provide greater privacy.
Do room-darkening shades make a room completely black?
No. Room-darkening fabric blocks most incoming light, but light can still enter around the sides of the shade. Inside-mounted roller shades naturally have small side gaps for brackets and operating components.
What is the difference between 1% and 5% solar shades?
A 1% solar shade has a tighter weave. It blocks more sunlight, provides greater daytime privacy, and allows less outward visibility.
A 5% solar shade allows more natural light and a clearer outside view while still reducing glare and solar heat.
Do solar shades provide privacy at night?
Not completely. Solar shades provide better privacy during the day when it is brighter outside. At night, people outside may be able to see into a lighted room. A room-darkening roller shade is a better choice when nighttime privacy is important.
Can I order material samples?
Yes. We strongly recommend ordering samples before purchasing custom shades. Screen colors can look different from the actual material, and samples allow you to see the color, texture, and openness in your room.
How do I measure for my shades?
Use our measuring guide and measure every window individually. Do not assume that windows that look identical have exactly the same dimensions.
Because each shade is made to the measurements submitted with the order, customers are responsible for entering accurate measurements.
Why is the fabric narrower than the total shade width?
The fabric is normally narrower than the complete shade because space is needed for brackets, controls, motors, and other operating components. This is a normal part of roller-shade construction.
What operating options are available?
Available options may include manual operation, motorized wand operation, remote-controlled motorization, and compatible smart-home control through an optional bridge. Available choices are shown on each product page.
How long does production take?
Most orders are manufactured within 7 to 10 business days. Additional time may be required when a particular material, color, or matching dye lot must be ordered or replenished.
How long does shipping take?
Orders normally ship through UPS. Transit time after production is approximately 3 to 7 business days, depending on the destination.
How much is shipping?
Shipping is a flat $39.95 per order within the 48 contiguous United States. Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories, and international destinations require confirmation and a separate shipping quote.
Can I change or cancel my order?
Change or cancellation requests must be emailed to justrollershades@gmail.com within three hours of placing the order. After three hours, the order may enter production and cannot be changed or canceled.
Can custom shades be returned?
Custom-made shades are final sale because they are manufactured using the customer’s measurements and selections and cannot normally be resold.
